The UCU’s Stop the Cuts campaign is challenging the financial cutbacks in HE institutions across the UK. We are seeing unprecedented levels of redundancies and the closure of courses and departments. The effects on both staff and students will be hugely damaging. The UCU’s view is that the cuts are often being made without due consideration of alternative remedies. They want HE administrations to reconsider their strategy and to consult properly with staff.
